Paid Opportunity Alert!

Are you part of a uniformed youth organisation? This is your chance to shape a national heritage project.

Do you want to join a group of amazing young people from uniformed groups, to ensure youth voice is at the heart of our work? After a successful first year, we want to grow our Youth Voice Ambassadors group for our heritage project, the Heritage Youth Partnership.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Part of a uniformed youth group
  • Aged 18-25
  • Passionate about heritage, community and social action
  • Keen to amplify youth voice
  • Available for 15 flexible hours, including quarterly remote meetings
  • Based in England

Our first cohort of Youth Voice Ambassadors have: created online content and reels, written blogs, represented the group and uniformed youth at national forums and events, and co-designed resources. Resources have included support for heritage organisations to engage with uniformed groups, and guidance on how to achieve your DofE Award through heritage.

There will be opportunities to be involved in digital communications, e.g. social media content and blogs, co-design of future projects and events, piloting heritage activities, exploring accessible evaluation approaches, and many more. We try to offer opportunities to grow experience and skills in areas that align with your interests and ambitions.

To ensure we have representation across all 12 uniformed youth organisations in our Network, we are particularly looking for young people with experience as members/volunteers with: Army Cadets, Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, JLGB, RAF Air Cadets, Royal Navy Cadets, Sea Cadets, St John Ambulance Youth Programmes, Fire Cadets and Volunteer Police Cadets.

We want this group to be inclusive and representative of as many life experiences as possible. We therefore encourage applications from young people from backgrounds currently underrepresented in our group.

The role will offer up to 15 hours of paid remote work (with occasional in-person opportunities) between August 2026 and February 2027.
