WHAT WE DO

ABOUT DCMS

DCMS Uniformed Youth Fund

We are working with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to manage the Uniformed Youth Fund (UYF). The initial fund (2022–2025) was delivered in partnership with Groundwork UK and supported eight uniformed youth organisations: Scouts, Girlguiding, JLGB, Girls’ Brigade, Boys’ Brigade, Marine Society & Sea Cadets, Volunteer Police Cadets and St John Ambulance.

Following the success of this programme, the Fund has been expanded into a further round running to March 2026 (2025/26) and now also includes Fire Cadets.

The Fund aims to create over 20,000 new places for young people aged 10–18 (with a focus on 13–18-year-olds), prioritising areas of higher deprivation and those eligible for the Youth Investment Fund. It supports young people’s wellbeing and life skills through access to regular activities, while building organisational capacity for sustainable growth.

We also hold learning and practice-sharing events for funded organisations throughout the grant period.
